LION OF THE MONTH
King Lion Judy chose Rick Bertoia as March Lion of the Month. He joined our Club last fall and he has a lot of great ideas. One of which is our newest fundraiser - A German Dinner Experience, scheduled for 4/28. He and his wife, Renate, are spearheading this event and have put a lot of time and effort into it. Thanks Rick, for stepping up so soon after joining in.

GERMAN DINNER FUNDRAISER
Our German Dinner is on Saturday 4/28. There will be an authentic German Meal and German music. German attire is encouraged and bring your own beer stein, be ready to come join the fun. To be successful, WE ALL NEED TO SELL TICKETS. We have several visitations scheduled to the other clubs in our zone. We need more volunteers to go on the visitations. It’s a great way to meet other Lions, see how other Clubs operate and help promote our Club. Call King Judy for the visitation schedule if you think you can help.
THE CIRCUS IS JUNE 1ST
This is a BIG fundraiser for us and we’ll need to get out there and promote it. The key will be to SELL TICKETS in advance. This is not only a great event for us, but a great event for the Town of Eatonville.
COMMUNITY FLEA MARKET IN JUNE
At our 4/4 meeting we discussed sponsoring a flea market as a fund raiser. The idea is still in the discussion stage and we welcome ALL input. A couple of dates & locations were discussed. One suggestion was the weekend after the Arts Festival, using the Festival tents at the park, which would need to stay up all week after the Festival. Another thought was the same weekend as the Relay For Life Cancer Walk in June, in either the Medical Billing parking lot or the old Ford dealership lot on Washington Street. WHAT DO YA THINK???
August Zone Meeting
Incoming Zone Chairman, Rena Larson, asked our Club to Host her first Zone Meeting. At our 4/4 meeting we voted to accept the invitation (see what you miss when you don’t come to the meetings). ZC Rena has been a big supporter and encourager of our Club since we began 5 years ago. It will be an honor for us to host the meeting. It will be a dinner meeting for all the clubs in the zone. We are going to need participation from EVERYONE, with a capital EVERYONE. The date is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, 8/25/07. So, mark your calendars, keep the date open and be prepared to help. Just a side note, when you miss meetings you have a tendency to get appointed to committees and assigned to help with fundraisers. It seems to work well. Just a warning.
EGG BASKET DRAWING Jackie Sparrow missed out on the $$$ last time when her name was drawn but she wasn’t there. We miss you Jackie.
April 21 is the DAFFODIL PARADE. If anyone would like to participate and walk in the Lion delegation in the Parade, contact the Orting Lions. The Orting Lions put on a great barbecue following the parade. COME JOIN THE FUN.
White Cane Days are May 4-5. We may set up a table at the high school May Day Celebration on May 4th and we may set up a booth at the Post Office, both of which are great ways to promote the upcoming Circus as well. Or, once again, we may team up and help the Night Lions at their tables at Plaza Market and Barney’s Corner. Be thinking of when you might be able to help out for a few hours either of those 2 days.
